STMC PA February 18, 2024 General Meeting

This meeting took place on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. Key discussion points included:

PA Chair Update (Mandeep Badesha & Darlene Witham):
Recap of Sept-Dec 2024 Events: Fundraising events included merchandise sales at Homecoming and the Knight Christmas Market. Parent-supported events involved Homecoming setup/takedown, Open House, Christmas Music Knight, and Christmas display decorating.
Upcoming Events: The Gala ("A Knight to Remember") is scheduled for April 25, and the Walkathon for April 30.
Executive Board Positions: Information was provided on the roles of Volunteer Coordinator and Treasurer, with details on their responsibilities and time commitment. Parents interested in volunteering for official roles or general support were encouraged to reach out.

Funds Paid to Student Clubs/Programs: A total of $19,033.82 was paid to various student clubs, including Dance Club, Baking Club, Statistics Club, Beamline, Athletics, Band and Choir, Learning Resource Centre, Textile Club, Chess Club, Bee Club, and Interact Club.
Walkathon Update (Aliyah Walji): A small team is assisting administration with community engagement, sponsorships, and volunteer needs. They are awaiting an FAQ document, a finalized "wish list" of items for 2025 based on student feedback, and will initiate sponsorship call-outs.

Communications Update (Melissa Chua / Sonia Leung):
Connectivity: Information on staying connected was provided, including the "PA Scoop" monthly newsletter, the PA Website (stmcpa.ca), social media (Facebook and Instagram @stmcpacommunications), and email (stmcpacommunications@my.stmc.bc.ca).
Website Updates: Recent additions to the website include information on cybersecurity breaches and the Lenten Journey Campaign.
Decor Committee (Anne Fok & Cliona Ng): The committee is planning the 2025 Knights Annual Gala with a "Casino" theme, to be held at the Grand Villa Hotel on April 25, 2025. Funds raised will go to the Knights Annual Fund, with 50/50 raffle proceeds going to the PA. A planning meeting was scheduled for February 19 via Zoom, and volunteer sign-ups for the gala were to be released.


Next Meetings: The next Executive PA meeting is March 11, 2025, and the next Annual General Meeting/Executive Elections are on June 10, 2025.
