History of the
Knights Christmas Market
STMC used to hold an annual garage sale for many years, but in 1992, the Knights Christmas Market took its place. Shirley Elliott, who founded the market, recalls the Brothers commenting on how much they preferred the delicious aromas of the craft fair wafting up to their residence over the musty smells of the old garage sale.
The craft fair's success in those early years was largely thanks to Shirley’s dedication and hard work. She handpicked vendors, organized every detail, and set the foundation for what has become one of the school’s most beloved traditions. Yet, it was the growing involvement of the entire STMC community—students, parents, and staff—that helped the market flourish over the years. Together, they have built a vibrant event that showcases local talent and embodies the school’s spirit of collaboration.
After a pause due to the pandemic, we are excited to hold the market in person again for the first time. With the same commitment from our community that has always been at its heart, we look forward to continuing this cherished tradition and making it a success once more.
